We offer a full solution to provide remote record, including a registration application, web epg, mobile epg, and any relevant registration applications and set top box software.
The solution allows multiple users to be programme a single set top box, and recordings can either be specified for an individual show, a series, or even a topic such as “live football” or “brad pitt films”. This benefits the user not only in setting recordings while they are away from the home, but also in providing more sophisticated programming functions that would otherwise be available on the PVR.
The user interface varies from a simple SMS based to application to complicated iPhone applications where the user can search and personalise their TV Guide, but all of them share the ability to set a recording, and frequently view recording lists, manage scheduling conflicts and delete recordings when away from the house.
The interface to the set top box can either be handled on top of an existing conditional access system, separately within the broadcast stream, or using a connected PVR over the internet or a cable network.
